Little hat pins
Remember the hats and mitten ornament post I did? You can see it here...http://jennicanknit.blogspot.com/2011/11/hat-and-mittens-ornament.html
I decided to make little hat pins for the hockey moms on Olivia's team.
I made 13 pins out of 2 balls of cascade 220 yarn.
These are so easy... here is the pattern:
Cast on 26. I used size 6 needles. You can use a magic loop or double points.
Knit stripes for rows 1-12.
Row 13 decrease 4 = 22 stitches
Row 14 knit
Row 15 decrease 4 = 18 stitches
Row 16 knit
Row 17 decrease 4 = 14 stitches
Row 18 decrease 4 = 10 stitches
Row 19 decrease 4 = 6 stitches
Cut yarn, using a needle, draw the yarn through the remaining stitches. Add a pompom and you are done!
Stitch on the numbers using a running stitch. Add the pin back with needle and thread. Wear with pride to your kid's game!

I would make my kids be on a hockey team with yours just so I could get a hat! And, seriously, who cares if my kids are boys who have already graduated??? If it would get me a waaaaaay cute hat, I'd be all over it!
ReplyDeleteI love these! What a great idea. Thank you.
