Nesting Doll Ornament

I published this a couple weeks ago but it somehow disappeared from my blog?!  The most frustrating thing about blogging is my relationship with this computer.  I can't deal with it.  Anyways, a bunch of people were asking me where it was so here we go...

Today is day number 7 of my handmade ornament series.  We are going to be making nesting doll ornaments and cards.

Start with a basic nesting doll shape.  The simpler the better!  Cut your pattern in half so you have a kerchief half and a bottom half.  Start stitching your pieces on using a running stitch.

When you have it sewn together stuff it with polyfill and stitch closed.

Add details using your best friend, the glue gun.

I'm not going to want to give these away!

Next I made a little card to go with the ornament.  I used the same idea, this time with paper.

  1. Wow... Your halls are going to be DECKED with all your sweet ornaments!!

  2. Those are so cute! I'm loving felt at the moment, and the cards are perfect to go with them.

  3. They're such happy dolls! So cute!

  4. I´m a new follower and Loved your dolls :)
I´d like to show them on my blog with a link back here...hope you don´t mind

  6. YAY! They're back up! I was one of the people who asked about these ornaments. So glad to see that this post is available again. Love matryoshka dolls! (Loved the Dala ornament, too!) Thank you!

  7. Well these are just so adorable I would have a hard time parting with them, too!! Lucky for you, they'll always be with you in your post ;) {ehem...if the computer cooperates!} Thank you SO much for linking these cuties up at the Winter Wonderland party over at I Gotta Create!!
