Nesting doll ornaments

Hi friends!  Welcome back to day 14 of the ornament countdown.  I made these nesting doll ornaments at my good friend's cabin.  They were inspired by this nesting doll fabric I bought at Crafty Planet http://www.craftyplanet.com/.  If you live in the Minneapolis, St. Paul area, you just have to make a trip  there.  I find the best fabric there... and they have amazing trims, patterns and yarn!

To make these ornaments, I cut out the nesting doll images on the fabric.  I also cut out red patterned circles to use as the background.  I mod podged both the circles and the dolls to the simple plastic circle ornaments pictured above.

I used the images on both sides of the circle, and added a little vintage yellow ribbon to the top.

These are so cute and simple.  Inexpensive too!  Last year I decorated one of my Christmas mantels with nesting dolls.  I'm not sure what I'm doing this year yet.  I'm thinking balls of yarn... but I haven't done anything yet.

When you craft do you watch t.v.?  Or do you prefer peace and quiet?  I've been listening to audible books.  I'm addicted!  I just listened to Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn.  Our book club read it and most of us loved it.   Today in preschool we are going to make paint chip turkeys.  I'll show them in a few days.  Happy Wednesday!!

  1. I listen to books while I craft and while I drive 40 minutes to work. Love it! I can't stand to road trip now without a book on CD. I just finished The Best of Me by Nicholas Sparks. I have listened to all of Jan Karon's Father Tim series twice and John Jakes who writes historical fiction is my all time favorite. Fabric covered ornaments, you got me! I love that idea...off to the thrift I go!

  2. I bought some Christmas nesting doll fabric yesterday at JoAnns. I know what I am using it for now!! Thanks!

  3. Wow, these are cute, I love the tutorial, what great fabric! I may have to hunt down some of this print and give this craft a try, thanks for sharing!

  4. Absolutely adorable!!!
