Good morning... there are snow flurries here in Minnesota this morning. I think winter is officially here. (sigh)
Today we are going to handsew these little felt elves. I got inspired by this darling paper by doodlebug designs http://doodlebug.ws/ The line is called santa's workshop. I looked at the little elves and cut out similar shapes for their bodies and clothes.
I started with their heads. I hand stitched around the edges, stuffed them with polyfill and added yarn braids to the girl.
For the arms and legs I used pipe cleaners cut in half. I wasn't sure what I wanted for the eyes... i left them blank until I decided.
The boy elf is carrying a pipe cleaner candy cane. they both are embellished with little buttons and pompom trim.
I decided to stitch on their eyes with black embroidery floss.. I added little pink cheeks too.
I made a cute little card to match... a perfect fit!
Come back tomorrow to see hat and mitten ornaments!
Hi Jenni. Just a little note to say I'm enjoying all your ornament making posts. I love how you've included little matching note cards and / or packaging with each of them!
