Candy Lei

Today's project is a candy lei... a perfect end of the year teacher gift or gift for a graduate.  I've seen them made with gift cards and money too!
Start by wrapping candy in cellophane... tie on either side of your pieces of candy.  Keep tying until your necklace is long enough.  I used all different pieces of ribbon, ric rac and pom pom trim to make mine.  I also used a little double sided tape when wrapping the candy.

When your necklace is long enough overlap the cellophane ends together and adhere with tape.  This is where you are going to attach a big flower to your lei.

I made my flowers by layering cupcake liners (I used 6).  I glued the layers together, cut slits to make petals and added a little green ribbon for leaves.

Aren't they fun?!  If you saw me on fox 9 this morning, I hope you will visit my blog again soon.  You can also find me on pinterest here...http://pinterest.com/jenni_swenson1/   The printables that I showed this morning can be found here http://printabelle.com/Have a wonderful weekend!
p.s.  Happy Birthday to my amazing mom.  I don't know what I'd do without her!  Love you lots Linda Lou!
