I love love love knitting toys. It all started with the amazing Susan B. Anderson... check out her amazing blog here. http://www.spudandchloe.com/blog/ Today's pattern is written by another amazing toy designer... http://www.woollysomething.com/ Marie Mayhew.
I just loved the pattern for this fuzzy little penguin. Alas, my pattern didn't felt correctly (I didn't use 100% wool yarn for the head) but I thought it turned out awfully cute anyways.
I can't explain it... but I really love knitting miniature hats.
I love how the expression comes alive as you add little details.
Someone very special is getting this for Christmas...
After New Year's I will be featuring lots of toy patterns. My needles are busy finishing up lots of gifts this month.

Jenni, That is the cutest penguin ever. I just love its face and the hat is so real, I would want one in adult size. I actually love anything miniature anyway. Great job, can't wait to see more. Thanks for sharing and have a great day! What's penny's name? Penny? xoRobin❤
ReplyDeleteJenni, your little penguin turned out so cute! The little rosey cheeks are adorable. Great idea! Thanks for sharing with me.

So cute, Jenni! I love that heathered grey yarn. What kind is it? I can tell from your chair he turned out kind of big but I bet that makes him even more cuddly. Bring him to knitting so we can see him in person!
