vintage inspiration

Hi everyone... I hope you are all having a creative, happy Thursday.  Today I'm going to give you a peek into my prop box...

I bought this box at a garage sale for a $1.  I don't know about you but I have a hard time passing nice boxes up.  There is just so much you can do with them!  So this little cutie got a nice coat of avocado green spray paint.

Then I started filling it up with little treasures that I can use in photo collages or displays.  I add new things and take things out all the time.

Old games and game cards always inspire me...

Flashcards, playing cards, cute little scrapbook embellishments...

All the junk I probably played with when I was little!

This is one of my favorite thrift store finds... aqua vintage alphabet letters.  I like unusual scrabble letters too...

Last of all... my favorite new magazine inspiration.  Mollie Makes is published in England... it is a little hard to find but worth the search.  I love their photographs and amazing craft inspiration.

  1. I'm pretty sure I had some of that doll house furniture!! That crib looks SO familiar!! Really takes me back.....I love the same things you do...I'd feel like such a copycat if I collected the same things! ;))

  2. I know... I love that stuff... I just got a box full for $2. Now I need a tin dollhouse to put it all in.

My sisters and I played with my mom's old metal doll house and little plastic furniture all the time. :)

  5. it's your fault I didn't get anything done last night :) I ended up downloading the Zinio app on my iPad so I could buy a digital version of Mollie Makes magazine and I read it until bed. What gorgeous pics and fun ideas. Now I want to go to England and visit the stores they show!
