Snowman ornament

Welcome back to day 6 of my ornament series.  I have gotten such nice comments and messages about it... thanks!
Do you have friends who collect snowmen?  This is the perfect ornament for them.  It has a few steps... so bear with me!  Start by wrapping small and medium styrofoam balls with white yarn.  Glue the head and the body together after you have wrapped them.  I always buy cheap yarn for projects like this...

To make the scarves, I braided together 12 strands of yarn and knotted each end.

The hat takes a little more work.  Cast on 20, knitting 10 rows.  Decrease 2 stitches on each side of the hat until you have 2 stitches yet.  Add a big pompom on top with yarn left over from the scarves.  If you don't knit, cut apart a baby sock and glue a pompom on top.

I actually love these without faces...

I added a black pompom eyes and an orange carrot nose to each.

I'm giving these to my preschool class.... shhhhh, it's a secret!
