Hat and Mitten Advent calendar

Have you noticed that everyone is making creative advent calendars?  I've seen so many creative ideas on pinterest.  This summer my friend Mary and I decided to knit a hat and mitten advent calendar for our friend Peggy.  You can find the pattern here... http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/adventskalendar
If you are a knitter, we should be friends on ravelry.  My user name is jennicanknit!
I made 2 sets of these for my nieces and nephews last year.  They are fun little take along projects.  Time consuming, but a fun way to use up some of your stash.

Mary and I knitted the set for a friend who is always making gifts for other people.  She is a regular reader of my blog too... we already gave it to her so I'm not ruining the surprise.  The rest of our book club brought small gifts to put in the mittens.

The mittens are hung onto a thick Martha Stewart yarn with clothespins.  I embellished the clothespins with scrapbook paper and bingo markers.

We used lots of bright colors for this project.  Peggy loved it.  Are you making anything amazing for Christmas?  Next week I'm going to be starting a series of 15 handmade gifts.  Happy crafting!
