Fabric mat for an old frame

I recently found an old picture of my husband and I at prom.  I must admit, it's a cute one.  I'm trying to use what I have, so I decided to remake a mat for an old frame.

I can't believe how young we look.  It was love at first site when we met, I'm not kidding.  This was 1985.
To cover a mat, all you need is fabric and some spray adhesive.  My new fave product.  It's sticky and messy, but it works great.  Lay your mat down on the back of your fabric.  I bought this at Joann's and I just love it.  Their home decorating fabric is really cute.

Cut a hole in the back, drawing a diagonal line to each corner.  Wrap your fabric around the mat.

That painting is a reproduction by an artist named Jae Dougall.  I love her stuff.

  2. Super cute! I might have to flip a wedding picture into B&W and make a little mat myself! No, our pictures weren't ORIGINALLY in black and white! Hee hee!
