Hi 5 Mittens

I think January is the most perfect month for knitting.  No Christmas deadlines and if you are lucky, lots of snowy nights stuck inside by the fire.   I'm working on this adorable ziggity hat by Mandy Powers.  It is even for myself!  You can buy the pattern on ravelry.  It is lots of fun to knit... I love the zigzags and the amazing picot edge border.  I think the matching mittens are in order.  I bought this ewe ewe yarn http://blog.nobleknits.com/2011/08/ewe-ewe-yarns-wooly-worsted-washable.html  in the fall because it felt so squishy and delicious but I wasn't quite sure what to do with it.

Hannah requested a pair of special mittens to go with her hot pink coat.  These colors were just perfect. The pattern is mine... I will post it soon I promise.  The thing that makes these mittens so cute are the palms...

Hannah saw a pair of Kate Spade mittens with hi 5 knitted into the palm.  I decided to applique it on with felt.  I think they are adorable.  She does too.

  2. Adorable! I got a pair of Kate spade mitten-gloves from Suzanne....they're so cute. They're fingerless so you can use your smart phone to text, etc and have a mitten flap when you're not! :)
