Tacky Christmas sweaters

My daughter's hockey team is having an ugly Christmas sweater party.  I decided to make Olivia and 2 of her friends a sweatshirt.  I started with a $5 Hanes sweatshirt from Target, some felt, pompoms, candy canes, jingle bells and hot glue.

We cut a star out for the top and then started adding the embellishments with hot glue.

So fun and easy.
We also made invitations for the party.  I started with square cards.  I cut a v at the fold and then shaped the sleeves a little bit.  We added decorative paper on each and a circle punch snowman.

Have a happy Monday!

  1. Those are definitely more cute than ugly. And I recognize that cute paper on the invitations. Wish I bought 2 packs of that!

  2. How clever of you to make your own tack Christmas sweaters! They're really popular here for some reason, so all of the good ones are picked over at the thrift stores.

  3. Now this looks like fun. I know they were supposed to be ugly and on teens or adults they ARE a bit much but is it wrong that in the photos of just the felt trees and embellishments that I thought they were kind of cure? :0 For little girs these could be the real deal. hehe.
So happy you linked your project and party invites to BeColorful's Motivated Monday
