Mitten Giveaway... and Witch cupcakes

Guess what?  Today is I LOVE YARN day which means I announce the winner of the mitten contest. If you haven't figured it out already... it is Momma Hen.  Visit her blog here...http://mommahenscoop.com/  Congratulations!  I will send you an email so I can get your info.  For those of you who entered... I promise I will do another knitted giveaway soon... next time a hat!

Today is day 14 of the 31 day challenge.  If you would like to visit some of the other bloggers check it out here...http://www.thenester.com/2011/09/31-days-participants.html  I'm going to show you how I frosted my Halloween cupcakes this week.

Here is the secret to my frosting... are you shocked?  Here is my recipe...
2 cans whipped vanilla frosting
4 cups powdered sugar
1/4 cup milk
2 tbs butter
1 tsp almond extract... Beat all the ingredients.  Load into the frosting gun.  I got mine at Target.. it is nothing fancy but it gets the job done.

I used Wilton purple dye for these.

Sprinkles are crucial...

To finish these off I decided to make witch's hats to top them off.  All you do is add hershey's kisses to fudge stripe cookies with a little frosting.

I added little bows with gel frosting and some orange sprinkles.

Here they are... I think they are cute don't you?!

Have a great Friday... tomorrow we celebrate Halloween with a little pink.
