Knitting Pumpkins

Today I am having my knitting friends over to knit pumpkins!  But first things first, what are we going to eat?!  I made a delicious lemon poppy seed cake... here is the recipe!

1 tsp almond
1/4 cup poppy seeds... soak in 1/4 cup milk
1 box lemon cake mix
1 box vanilla pudding
1 cup water
1/2 cup vegetable oil
4 eggs
1/2 cup sour cream
Mix all together, bake in a bundt pan for 60 minutes.

Glaze:  2 cups powdered sugar, 2 tbs milk, 1/2 stick butter, juice of 1 lemon
Whisk together and add a little yellow food coloring.  Pour on top of cake and enjoy!

Back to those pumpkins...  I knitted them using a pattern from my local yarn store.  They are so fun and easy to knit.  Here they are before you felt them (put them in the washing machine)...

and after they are felted...

Stuff them through the hole at the bottom...

I like to add a little bag of polypellets so it doesn't tip over.  Sew up the bottom and...

enjoy your handiwork.  Aren't they cute?!
By the way, my blog is nominated for Babble's top 50 craft mom blogs... will you take a minute and vote for my blog here... nominate/www.babble.com/mom/beauty-style/top-50-craft-mom-blogs-2011-nominate/index.aspx  Scroll down the list and find vintage umbrella.  xoxo  Jenni
